WagesThe Caterpillar Power Generator Field Technician starting wage will depend on experience and education. $33.80 - $41.50
ResponsibilitiesAs a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems.

- Complete repair solutions for generators & automatic transfer switches, on Cat and non-Cat branded systems
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 3200 KW
- Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
- Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
- Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Working independently with minimal daily supervision
- Load Bank testing – Resistive and Reactive 25kW to 4,000kW
- Complete Fluid Analysis for record keeping and engine component wear monitoring to increase equipment lifecycle
- Emissions testing and analyzing
- Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) – installations and retrofitting, core cleaning and annual testing

QualificationsOne-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school;
Two to four years mechanical experience or equivalent education and experience.
