About This RoleR.R. Cassidy, Inc., a Quanta Services company, is seeking a highly skilled Fabricator with strong welding credentials to support complex utility and construction projects. This role is designed for experienced tradespeople who take pride in precision, safety, and craftsmanship. The Fabricator will play a critical role in producing structural and custom‑fabricated components used in subsurface, pole‑setting, and field‑installation work.
This position is best suited for candidates with formal welding certifications, hands‑on fabrication experience, and the ability to operate both in a shop environment and in support of field crews. Travel will be required.
What You’ll Do- Fabricate structural and custom metal components by cutting, fitting, welding, and assembling materials such as carbon steel and aluminum.
- Read, interpret, and work from detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications with minimal supervision.
- Perform certified welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW to meet project and code requirements.
- Operate fabrication and shop equipment including band saws, oxy‑fuel torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and drills.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure fabricated components meet dimensional tolerances, weld quality standards, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and field crews to ensure fabricated materials integrate properly during installation.
- Maintain tools, welding machines, and shop equipment in safe, working condition.
- Strictly follow company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job‑specific safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying fabrication efficiencies and quality enhancements.
- Proven experience as a Fabricator or Welder in construction, utility, or industrial environments.
- Strong proficiency in SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes.
- Ability to read and accurately execute work from blueprints and technical drawings.
- Valid Class A, B, or D driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work on your feet for extended periods, and perform tasks in shop and field conditions.
- Experience supporting utility, power, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with structural welding codes and quality standards.
- Prior experience working in a safety‑sensitive, regulated environment.
