the Role
Vertiv is hiring a Field Service Engineer – Thermal to join our Benelux team. In this role, you’ll work hands‑on with cutting‑edge environmental and cooling systems, providing start‑ups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for our customers across the Netherlands. You’ll be the face of Vertiv in the field, ensuring that mission‑critical systems run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is a customer‑facing, technical position ideal for individuals who enjoy problem‑solving, working independently, and continuously learning in a high‑tech environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer service calls, perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs, and manage start‑ups for Vertiv’s thermal and environmental systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures, maintain accurate records of your work, and keep customers informed at every stage.
- Identify service opportunities, support continuous improvement, and contribute to the overall reliability and performance of our systems.
- Collaborate closely with our technical teams and Call Control center, plan and manage your service activities efficiently, and represent Vertiv with professionalism and a customer‑first mindset.
- A qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or a related discipline (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent).
- Experience servicing environmental, HVAC, or cooling systems.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the Netherlands (and occasionally abroad).
- Computer literacy and clear English language communication skills.
- A strong focus on customer service, safety, and quality.
This role involves field‑based work across the Netherlands, occasional overnight stays, and participation in a 24/7 on‑call rota. Some heavy lifting (up to 35 kg) may be required. A significant amount of after‑hours and weekend work, frequently scheduled with little notice. You’ll receive full training, modern tools, and the support of a dedicated technical network that values safety, integrity, and teamwork.

- Salary based on a 38‑hour week under our Collective Labour Agreement – Metal & Technology
- Work 40 hours a week and use this to build up ADV days
