Freedom Stone+Pondscapes LLC, a leading high‑end outdoor living construction company in the Kansas City Metro Area, is seeking a driven and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to lead the installation of stunning hardscape and water feature projects. As a Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman, you'll be hands‑on in operating heavy equipment, managing job site teams, and ensuring the accurate, efficient, and safe completion of each project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, skid loaders, and backhoes.
  • Lead and train laborers and team members on‑site.
  • Read blueprints to determine grades, elevations, structures, and layout.
  • Create and maintain a safe job site in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain or report equipment safety and maintenance needs.
  • Conduct site layout, shoot grades, and verify city compliance.
  • Drive project efficiency and upsell additional services when applicable.
  • Collaborate directly with the company owner on operations and logistics.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years operating Bobcat and/or mini‑excavator.
  • 2+ years of stone or large block retaining wall experience preferred.
  • MUST have experience operating this specific equipment – skid steers, compact track loaders, and 5‑15 ton excavators (mini‑midsize).
  • Must be skilled in finish grading/finish operations.
  • Valid Class A CDL (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiar with shoring, slope cutting, lifting, and safe stone handling.
  • Capable of physical labor including excavation tasks.
  • Must have a working cell phone, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.
  • Experience towing large equipment.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in mandatory training.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Schedule

Full‑time, year‑round work. Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 AM. 45‑50 hours/week, with occasional overtime or weekend shifts depending on weather.

Work Location

Proudly serving Kansas City, Missouri & Northwest Arkansas – local work with some regional travel required.
