The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.
This position will be located at Lake Wappapello State Park at 8005 State Highway 172, Williamsville Missouri
. Normal shift hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (1/2-hour lunch break). Shifts may vary with the time of year and in order to meet the needs of the facility. Days off:
Saturday and Sunday. This position may be required to work weekends, holidays, emergencies, special events, and overnight stays.

Responsibilities- This is skilled work in facility maintenance, grounds maintenance, construction and repair of buildings, routine cleaning of structures, and the backup operator of the water/wastewater systems at both Morris and Lake Wappapello State Parks.
- Employee will work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
- Perform and ensure completion of routine preventive maintenance and necessary repairs to vehicles, heavy equipment, equipment and tools. Conduct monthly safety meetings and provide individual training as necessary.
- Purchase operating supplies and parts as necessary. Become familiar with and follow all procurement rules and procedures.
- Monitor inventory and provide list of needs for central warehouse and MVE orders.
- Assist with stewardship of resources, both natural and cultural. Participate in on-site controlled burns, invasive plant removal and other resource management related projects. Participate in off-site controlled burns at other parks to help meet Region or Statewide management goals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures and policies.
- Attend mandatory and other trainings to learn new or enhance existing skills.
- Communicate openly and effectively with the public, external stakeholders, supervisors and subordinates.
This position will be required to obtain and maintain appropriate water/wastewater certifications, MDC Level 1, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given twelve months to obtain necessary license/certification.

- 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete, and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
Job Requirements
- A valid vehicle operator’s license is required.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical outdoor work in extreme or inclement weather conditions, able to stand or walk on uneven terrain for extended periods, lift, carry and load up to 50 pounds repeatedly, bend stoop, crawl and work on elevated surfaces, operate equipment for extended time frames such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, backpack blowers, climb ladders.
- Must be able to work some weekends, evenings and holidays, and attend trainings with overnight stays.
