Overview
DIESEL TRUCK TECHNICIAN – St Louis Composting, producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends, is seeking a safety conscious Diesel Truck Technician to join our growing team at our site in Pacific, MO. The Diesel Truck Technician will collaborate with other repair team members to ensure a vehicle is safely and efficiently operating to the driver's needs.

- Performs maintenance on semi tractors, trailers, and completes DOT inspections.
- Follows preventative maintenance procedures as established by company standards.
- Performs diagnostic tests on diesel engines, interpreting the results for resolution.
- Repairs or replaces vehicle transmissions, brakes, clutches, engines and other associated parts.
- Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions.
- Works effectively in a sometimes fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility.
- Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Possesses a valid US driver's license and has their own tools (specialty tools provided).
- Qualified to perform DOT inspections and follow company preventative maintenance procedures.
- At least 2 years of experience with emissions, aftertreatment systems, electrical, air conditioning, powertrain and suspension systems.
- Experience with PTO hydraulic systems.
- Experience with Paccar, Cummins, Caterpillar and Mack power plants.
- Welding and metal fabricating experience.
- Certified on Brakes and air conditioning systems.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Other duties as directed.
As an important part of our hiring process, our candidates must go through a background check, in order to comply with the Department of Transportation requirements. Additionally, we do extensive drug testing including urine, breath alcohol, and invasive hair follicle testing.
Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
