  • SPECIAL SALARY INFORMATION: Per MOU, Section 11. Public Works Waterworks District 29 – Malibu Effective October 1, 2023, all classifications permanently assigned to the South Maintenance Area (Malibu Office), in the Department of Public Works shall receive additional compensation of four salary schedules higher than that provided in Section 6.28.140.
  • ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION BONUS: The bonus is subject to cancellation if the holder of the Water Service Helper I title is transferred from the Malibu office to another office location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assists in performing routine water service work (e.g., maintenance, installation, repair) on water district systems and equipment.
  • Employs safe work practices.
  • Interacts with co-workers and members of the public.
  • Completes daily reports and keeps records (service work orders, logs, reports, notes, timesheet).
  • Assists in transporting tools and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

License: No training or experience is required. A valid California Class C Driver License is required. A Class A or B license may be required for some positions.

A valid driver license must not be suspended, restricted, or revoked. Verification of license and driving record is required before final appointment.

Physical Class: Physical Class 4 – Arduous: frequent heavy lifting over 25 lbs, bending, twisting, and working on irregular surfaces. Some positions may require passing specialized medical examinations.
