Resident Technician, Heavy

Perform in the field service repairs on construction equipment. This position covers the construction market in the following Missouri territory
. Counties include:
Randolph, Macon, Adair, Monroe, and Shelby county
.

7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and callouts as needed.

• Perform service and repairs on construction equipment in the field for Altorfer's customers.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems.
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner to find diagnostic errors, technical problems, and determine proper solutions.
• Establish and maintain a service oriented relationship with customers and supervisors.
• Order parts in equipment parts books or online.
• Complete service reports and all other paperwork before and after repairs are made.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Successful completion of a formal technical training program with a minimum of four years' experience in a service setting required.
• Must have engine, electrical, hydraulic, transmissions and diagnostic troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Computer literacy required, familiar with Microsoft Office and CAT programs.
• Self‑starter with good time management, able to work independently.
• Excellent planning & organization skills.
• CDL with air brake required and clean driving record.
• Ability to work overtime and some weekends when needed.
• Excellent communication skills (written, e‑mail, and verbal).
• Must be able to lift up to 75–100 lbs and provide your own tools.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no more than 2 minor violations in past 3 years, no major violations in past 5 years).

This position works in a field environment primarily at customer jobsites. It involves being outdoors in fields, exposed to weather, dust and dirt. May work in an office environment and travel to customer sites. Requires continuous walking, bending and lifting 75–100 lbs. Must be able to climb/operate machinery and wear appropriate safety equipment. Noise level usually moderate to high. Flexible to work varying schedules and hours.
