What you can expect as an Interior Upholstery Technician at West StarAs an interior upholstery technician you will repair, refurbish, and reinstall interior upholstery components on world‑class business aircraft. Tasks include general upholstery of seats and panels, removal and installation of seats, disassembly, cleaning, repair, and modification of components as needed. Duties vary daily and are assigned by the Team Leader for each project.
You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many Functions Including- Performing basic to advanced foam build‑ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items.
- Ability to perform minor modifications.
- Perform daily turnover sheets.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Keep the shop clean and organized.
- Work independently when required.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (speak, write, read) in English.
- Perform any other job‑related duties assigned by supervisor or management.
High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.
Your ExperienceTechnician I: 0‑2 years of experience as a seamstress or similar trade.
Technician II: 2‑5 years of experience working on aircraft seats and upholstery.
Technician III: 5+ years of experience working on aircraft seats and upholstery.
Your InitiativeWe’re looking for self‑motivated team players who can perform in a fast‑paced environment under specific deadlines and time constraints.
Your Sense Of ResponsibilityAttend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if you are unable to work.
Have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer‑oriented work habits.
Assist in major modification work as needed.
