The Shop Technician is responsible for setting up new equipment and refurbishing used equipment. This position is also responsible for the performance of assignments relative to refurbishing, servicing, and repairing of office equipment in the shop facility.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical Expertise
- Sets up new equipment with all required accessories required to complete an order
- Works with Field Technicians to acquire/increase working knowledge of electromechanical devices, application of service aids, and basic diagnostic technique
- Maintains and manages parts inventory used to refurbish and repair equipment
- Meets or exceeds appropriate productivity standards relative to assigned products as outlined by manager
- Responsible for the maintenance and protection of company property
- Completes all required administrative tasks (paperwork) in an accurate and timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
On-the-Job Training
- Receives direction and performs assignments relative to refurbish, service, and repair of office equipment in the shop facility
- Installs all equipment modifications and accessories on assigned equipment
Team Player
- Maintain productive and professional relationships with all GFI employees, customers, and vendors
- Demonstrate excellent and positive team member skills
This position requires basic technical knowledge (mechanics, electrical circuitry, electronics, and basic computer literacy).
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to methodically approach problems to resolve the problem. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend written technical information in the form of technical manuals, parts books, and relevant publications.
