Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a
** Landfill Liquid & Gas Technician
** to join the team in
** Castaic, CA!
** The schedule will be Monday-Friday. Weekend work and overtime is often required. Shift is 7am-4:30 or 5pm.

The pay range for this position is**$32-34/hour,
** depending on experience. We also offer great family benefits, a 401k match and paid time off.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Clean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables
* Assembling new parts on existing pumps
* Checking, monitoring  and cleaning gas wells
* Reading and keeping track of gas well data
* Operating small pieces of equipment such as backhoe
* Working with team and contract employees
* Working outside in all weather conditions.
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
* Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
* Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
* Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

MINIMUM

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
* Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
* Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
* Equipment operating experience is preferred.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
