Overview
Established organization is seeking a Security Operations Manager in the greater Burbank, CA area. The Security Manager will oversee and enhance the physical security posture of the location, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and assets. This role involves strategic planning, operational coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a secure environment. Pay rate is set at $140k/year.
Responsibilities- Physical Security Systems:
Provide expert consultation and recommendations on security systems and controls, including surveillance cameras, badge access, and visitor management systems. - Visitor Access Management:
Advise on best practices for processing visitor access requests in partnership with Human Resources and on-site leadership. - Vendor Coordination:
Manage schedules for third-party security personnel, approve timecards and invoices, and ensure timely submission of security-related payments to Accounts Payable. - Emergency Preparedness:
Assist the Executive Team in developing comprehensive emergency response plans for various security incidents. Act as the primary point of contact during emergencies, including communicating critical updates to the organization during natural disasters or declared emergencies. - Threat & Vulnerability Assessments:
Conduct formal assessments to identify security gaps, prioritize mitigation strategies, and provide justification for investments in additional security measures. - Threat Assessment Leadership:
Lead an internal Threat Assessment Team composed of senior executives, focusing on workplace violence prevention. Serve as the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan Administrator in compliance with California Senate Bill 553. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with external partners, including vendors, tenants, law enforcement, and first responders. Collaborate with internal teams to understand campus security risks and develop cost-effective mitigation programs within budget. - Training & Awareness:
Deliver security training programs, including Workplace Violence Prevention and other physical security topics. - Operational Support:
Provide security guidance to facilities teams and develop strategies tailored to business needs. Support investigations into concerning behaviors, threats, or communications that may indicate elevated risk. - Incident Management:
Investigate physical security incidents and oversee administrative tasks such as badge distribution for employees and contractors. - Compliance & Audits:
Perform routine security inspections and audits to ensure adherence to established protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in security, business discipline or equivalent relevant experience
- Proven track record developing relationships at all levels of management.
- 5 years of experience managing a contract security force.
- Experience maintaining professional relationships with third-party security-related vendors.
- 10 years of experience in corporate security. Military service or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in developing emergency plans and handling emergency situations effectively.
- Experienced giving live instruction across a wide range of security topics.
- Skilled in investigative techniques with prior experience conducting internal investigations.
- Preferred qualifications include at least 2 years in corporate security.
- Some experience on an Emergency Response Team in a corporate environment.
