On-Call Tactical Guard

This position is based within a secure holding cells unit
, requiring strict adherence to institutional policies and security protocols. While primarily observational and supervisory in nature, the role demands physical stamina, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage high‑responsibility environments such as detention areas, secure facilities, and other controlled‑access sites.

The role requires maintaining composure and professionalism in challenging situations, including instances of verbal hostility.

This is an on‑call position with no guaranteed hours; however, every effort will be made to accommodate your availability.

  Exposure to secure and controlled environments, valuable for future careers in law enforcement and corrections

• Maintain the care, custody, and control of detainees in a secure detention environment
• Conduct regular detainee welfare and safety checks at required intervals
• Monitor detainee behaviour and identify potential risks, medical concerns, or self‑harm indicators
• Assist with the safe escorting and movement of detainees within secure areas
• Control access to secure areas and maintain perimeter security
• Search for and prevent the introduction of contraband in accordance with policy
• Accurately complete logs, reports, and required documentation

Clean criminal background and Vulnerable Sector Check

Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Reliability Security Clearance ( Have you lived in Canada for 5 years? )

Valid First Aid and CPR Level C

Physically capable of standing, walking and patrolling for extended periods
