Job Description
SAIC is seeking a Security Specialist to provide programmatic support to a program within the Program Executive Office’s Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power portfolio at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
.
Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Perform day‑to‑day facility management tasks (escort, maintenance of facility access control entry systems, etc.).
- Develop and administer a document accountability system (processing inbound/outbound classified mail, receipt records, data transfers, classification reviews, destruction of classified materials, processing magnetic media for accountability, etc.).
- Support personnel security processes (processing visit notices, maintaining personnel security files, processing Program Access Requests and Program Security Questionnaires, performing indoctrinations, etc.).
- Support the development and execution of facility Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support security compliance inspections and personnel data checks in the Joint Access Database Environment system.
- Must have an in‑scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and rolled in the Continuous Vetting program (if applicable).
This is you:
- Bachelor’s degree and 9 years or more of relevant experience (additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of education).
- Complete DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training within six months of starting on contract (if performing SAP personnel security functions); JPAS training within six months (if performing SCI personnel security functions); and Joint Access Database Environment (JADE) training within six months (if performing SAP personnel security functions).
- Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) / Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) with focus on ICD 705 series, DoD 5205.07 series, Executive Orders, etc.
- Must have an in‑scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and rolled in the Continuous Vetting program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a polygraph examination (as required).
- Familiar with related security policy/manuals and the appropriate JAFANs/DOD Manuals and other guiding policy documents.
- Worked in government and/or cleared defense contractor office environment.
Target salary range: $120,001 – $160,000 (estimate based on experience and other factors).
