Salary: $21.60 - $26.71 per hour (minimum salary for new State candidates)
- Assist with invasive weed control, species monitoring and trapping.
- Participate in fuel reduction and controlled burn operations using chainsaws, brush cutters, and other equipment.
- Support contract crews and perform professional monitoring.
- Operate GIS/GPS systems and maps for field data collection.
- Maintain safety, critical thinking skills, and a positive attitude at all times.
- Work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months; position is not telework eligible.
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License (include license number, class, expiration date, endorsements or restrictions).
- Background investigation clearance via Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
- Ability to physically perform work outdoors under variable weather and hazardous conditions.
- Experience with GIS/GPS mapping and basic computer software for communication and record keeping.
- Knowledge of pesticides for invasive weed control.
- Experience in fuel reduction, controlled burns, or similar environmental work.
