West Sacramento, with a hybrid office/telework schedule; office two days per week. An Executive Order directed state agencies to plan for four days in the office beginning June 30, 2026.

Summary:
Conduct environmental review of industry oil spill contingency plans as part of OSPR’s Preparedness Branch. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and analytical skills to build effective working relationships with diverse colleagues and partners.

- Conduct environmental review of oil spill contingency plans and associated documents.
- Support preparedness activities within OSPR; engage with regulated industry, agency partners, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and timely objectives.
- Coordinate across programs and disciplines to meet organizational objectives, goals, and timelines.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills; build and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse groups.
- Ability to use a computer for several hours a day.
- May be required to participate in prevention and response training, drills, and incidents throughout California.
- Drive a state vehicle and be available to deploy/travel with short notice for extended periods (up to 7 days).
