Job Description and DutiesUnder the direction of the Vegetation Management Senior (Senior Environmental Scientist, CT), the Senior Environmental Scientist Specialist:
- Conducts research and investigations and performs environmental reviews necessary for the preparation of regulatory and compliance documents for transportation and vegetation‑management related projects.
- Serves as an environmental liaison for the Office of Vegetation Management HQ and the Maintenance Program, developing project‑level environmental elements to implement transportation improvements and enhancements, aiming for superior business results and equity.
- May be required to travel occasionally and complete overnight stays.
- Must hold a valid California driver’s license.
- Score on the Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) exam or other eligibility criteria as defined by the California state examination list.
- Valid California Driver’s License (CDL); include CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions.
- Resume (copy required). Copy of transcripts or degree documentation may be required if the applicant bases eligibility on education.
- Applicants with foreign transcripts or degrees must submit an evaluation of equivalency from a recognized agency (e.g., naces.org or aice-eval.org).
