Sales Development Representative

Sales Development Representative is responsible for lead generation and qualification across all 10x Genomics platforms—Chromium, Visium, and Xenium—engaging academic, government, medical center research institutions, biotech, pharma, and service providers. This independent role also promotes platform/product awareness via web inquiries, email campaigns, webinars, and coordinates with Account Managers, Xenium Capital Specialists and Scientific & Technology Advisors to schedule meetings and presentations. The position is remote.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Develop and execute independent lead generation strategies, using research techniques to identify high‑value prospects, and collaborate with Marketing to leverage targeted campaigns and optimize lead flow.
  • Responsible for lead generation and qualification for Chromium, Visium, and Xenium.
  • Track, report on, and participate in cross‑functional initiatives aimed at driving revenue growth.
  • Foster strong relationships and execute clear process flows for handoffs with cross‑functional departments (e.g., Marketing, Product Management) to develop and execute territory‑specific sales plans.
  • Support the broader Commercial organization to improve the sales cycle time.
  • Maintain the CRM system with accurate opportunities and pipeline updates.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • 0–1+ years experience in inside sales or business development, preferably in academic, life sciences or biotechnology industries.
  • Proficient at identifying ideal customer profiles and using research techniques to generate qualified leads.
  • Skilled at uncovering customer needs and pain points, effectively demonstrating how 10x Genomics products and services provide compelling solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in established sales methodologies and navigating the sales cycle from initial contact to qualification and opportunity creation.
  • Proficient with CRM software and other sales tools for efficient lead management, activity tracking, and reporting.
  • Skilled at coordinating with internal teams to address customer queries in an outbound or inbound sales context.
  • Outstanding relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM database.
  • Fluency in English; ability to speak additional languages highly desirable.
Preferred Skills And/or Experience
  • NGS Sales experience.
  • Experience using SFDC.
  • Proven successful sales experience with a technical product line.
Compensation

Pay Range: $67,900—$91,900 USD. This role is also eligible for equity grants, comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and an annual bonus or sales incentive program. Total compensation will be discussed during the hiring process and may vary by location.
