Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Director to lead a dual-focused mission:
Build and scale a strong sales pipeline while closing high-value deals with fabless semiconductor companies, Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs), and strategic partners
. Develop and promote a compelling employer value proposition to attract top technical and commercial talent in the U.S. market. This is a high-impact leadership role combining technical sales expertise, strategic market development, and team building within the compound semiconductor ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Sales Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S. market growth strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with leading semiconductor companies, fabs, and R&D centers.
- Own and manage the full complex sales cycle
, including prospecting, technical presentations, commercial negotiations, contract closure, and initial project onboarding.
Technical Consultation & Client Partnership
- Develop sufficient technical depth in compound semiconductor design and fabrication processes to serve as a trusted advisor to customers.
- Clearly articulate Sanan IC’s foundry value proposition
, translating complex technical capabilities into measurable business benefits. - Partner closely with customer engineering teams to understand technical requirements and collaborate with internal R&D and engineering teams in China to deliver tailored, feasible solutions.
Market Leadership & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across target accounts.
- Act as the primary client interface, ensuring high customer satisfaction and seamless coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs, providing strategic input to sales leadership and product roadmap planning.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer records using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Prepare regular sales performance reports and strategic reviews for senior management.
- Represent Sanan IC at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical symposiums to enhance brand presence and market credibility.
Team & Ecosystem Building
- Build and lead a local U.S. sales and business development team as the organization scales.
- Establish strong relationships across industry and academia
, including top engineering universities, to support long-term talent and innovation pipelines.
Areas of Expertise & Qualifications
Semiconductor Sales & Business Development
- Minimum 5 years of quota-carrying sales or business development experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Proven success selling high-value, complex technical solutions such as foundry services, semiconductor IP, or capital equipment.
- Strong ability to manage long sales cycles and close strategic, multi-stakeholder deals.
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science
, or a related technical discipline (required). - Solid understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, chip design flows, and fabless business models
. - Hands‑on familiarity with compound semiconductors
, including GaAs, GaN, InP, and GaInP technologies.
Strategic & Communication Skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong strategic thinking with experience developing account plans and market entry strategies.
- Ability to translate technical advantages into clear commercial value for customers.
Leadership, Autonomy & Drive
- Highly self-motivated with a “hunter” mentality and results-driven mindset.
- Comfortable operating independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability to scale and mentor teams.
Location & Travel
- Must reside in and be legally authorized to work in the United States
. - Willingness to travel 30–50% domestically and occasionally internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
- Established network within North American optoelectronics, RF semiconductors, and wireless communications markets.
- Prior experience working for or with a semiconductor foundry
