Main purpose of the Senior Footwear Buyer, Mens Footwear

The Senior Footwear Buyer leads the strategic development and execution of the footwear assortment for the e-commerce channel, with full accountability for driving revenue growth, margin optimization, and inventory efficiency. This role oversees end-to-end assortment architecture, vendor strategy, and trend leadership, while spearheading the development of exclusive products and capsules with key brand partners to create differentiation, strengthen strategic relationships, and drive incremental growth.

Leveraging data-driven insights and market intelligence, the Senior Footwear Buyer curates a commercially impactful, brand-right offering.

Major Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Own the seasonal footwear assortment strategy across key categories
  • Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and customer data to inform buying decisions and optimize assortment depth and breadth.
  • Identify emerging trends, key brands, and white-space opportunities aligned with brand positioning and customer demand.
  • Build and manage seasonal buy plans that align with financial targets and growth objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, exclusives, and promotional support to maintain margin and differentiation
Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Existing relationships with key footwear brands, such as Nike, On, Adidas, New Balance, and Salomon
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong commercial and trend acumen coupled with data-driven decision making
  • Experience with footwear product development
  • Excellent collaboration and leadership skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of buying experience, with the majority of experience focused on footwear
  • Strong experience in fashion e-commerce or omnichannel retail
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale assortments and deliver against sales and margin goals
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills
