Position: Retail Donation Attendant (Part-Time)

Retail Donation Attendant

Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas is seeking an energetic, self‑motivated retail donation attendant to join our team in North Kansas City, MO. Pay

Hourly Rate: $15.50 – $16.00 per hour.

Bonus Pay: Up to $250 per month.

Qualifications
  • No degree required;
    High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with co‑workers, customers, and management.
  • Organized and capable of interacting with a diverse workforce.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop‑off, and offering thanks, any donation incentive, and tax receipt.
  • Handle all donations with care and respect.
  • Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories (sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, trash) according to established guidelines.
  • Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
  • Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
  • Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
  • Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross‑functionally with other teams to increase communication.
  • Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation and contribute to ensuring the workplace is hazard‑free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris‑free.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft; report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
  • Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
