SummaryThe Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill Buckle’s mission: ‘To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.’ Sales Teammates also perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management—including cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures and routine store cleaning.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions about store merchandise; recommend, select and help locate or obtain items based on guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe‑building experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing this knowledge with teammates.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment policies, exchanges and security practices.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to track and achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and net sales goals set by Store Management.
- Provide legendary service across Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms and register area.
- Assist guests with fitting, checkout, bagging, and alterations.
- Handle returns, exchanges and special orders; support other teammates as needed.
- Build and maintain positive guest relationships to develop client‑based business.
- Participate in recruiting, training and development activities by recognizing opportunities and creating relationships through Guest Loyalty programs.
- Present merchandise in a way that maximizes sales and ensures optimal merchandise turnover.
- Work with teammates to implement product improvements, new product ideas and feedback.
- Perform operations tasks such as opening/closing registers, balancing cash drawers, bagging and purse checks, following Loss Prevention guidelines, and maintaining a clean, organized store.
- Advise management and leadership on merchandising issues, store policies, and ethical conduct.
- Execute special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Meet all required physical demands, including lifting 30 lb throughout the store.
