The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for hospital patients, staff, visitors, and special functions while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. This role follows daily work routines and assignments as delegated and plays a critical role in supporting patient care by ensuring meals are prepared accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established dietary guidelines. The Cook works in a fast-paced healthcare environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and adaptability are essential to meet operational needs and deliver a positive dining experience.
Education- Required:
None. - Preferred:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Preferred:
One year of institutional food service experience.
- Basic reading and writing skills with the ability to perform simple math.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to move quickly and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Organized, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Serv Safe certification preferred.
