The Assistant Correctional Food Manager (DOC) is a full‑time position located at the California State Prison in Corcoran, CA. The role offers a competitive pay range of $6,384.00 – $7,851.00, a fast‑vesting pension plan, up to 14 paid days off per year, and comprehensive benefits. The position is subject to current departmental hiring freeze restrictions.
Responsibilities- Receive instruction and training from the Correctional Food Manager.
- Instruct and train personnel on preparation, distribution, and serving of meals in a timely manner.
- Instruct personnel on proper use and maintenance of equipment and utensils and maintain compliance with MSDS issues.
- Maintain necessary and mandated forms and information (H.A.C.C.P., I.W.T.I.P., individual time cards, accident/disciplinary/supervisor reports).
- Receive and/or pass pertinent information to staff members or supervisors as required or necessary.
- Maintain the security of the institution as well as the safety of staff, incarcerated people and state property.
- Eligibility for the Assistant Correctional Food Manager classification (see Exam Information).
- Prerequisite knowledge of food preparation, storage, preparation, cooking (including baking), dispensing, serving, sanitation, safety measures, food accounting, purchase orders, methods of cutting and preparing meat, and training methods.
- Experience in preparing, distributing, and serving large quantities of food.
- Minimum qualifications verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
