Job Title: Microbiologist

Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension & Conversion depending on Performance)

Location: Chesterfield, MO

Pay range: $25-30/hr

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research and development initiatives within the field of microbiology and molecular biology. The successful candidate will play a vital role in conducting microbial analyses, developing protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the generation of high-quality data. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about advancing scientific knowledge and making a tangible impact in agricultural sciences.

• Conduct microbiological analyses on a variety of microbial species to support internal research studies.
• Develop and refine protocols for Colony Forming Unit (CFU) quantitation and other microbiological techniques.
• Perform viability and stability assays following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Process diverse sample types for microbial recovery and cultivation across multiple media types.
• Prepare, analyze, and communicate experimental data and findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Participate in general lab upkeep, including supply inventory, equipment calibration, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization, as well as with external partners as needed.

• Experience with microbial culturing, aseptic techniques, and microbial quantification methods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols accurately.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
