The Quality Inspection Specialist is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of automotive components (such as O₂ sensors and engine control products) to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. This role supports product quality by inspecting randomly selected samples and verifying the accuracy of manufacturing processes and testing equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform in-process and final inspections of automotive components to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect, measure, and test products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality testing equipment.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine acceptance criteria.
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain inspection logs and quality records
. - Identify nonconforming materials or processes and report quality issues to appropriate personnel for corrective action.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback related to inspection results and process performance.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours, meetings, and appointments.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned to support business needs, consistent with the employee's skills and capabilities.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, inspection criteria, and basic engineering documentation.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and measurement terminology
. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, recordkeeping, and communication.
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts.
- Prior quality inspection or quality assurance experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or bend.
- Ability to safely work around moving mechanical equipment.
- Work is performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with concrete floors.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud
