How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections, electrical testing, and evaluation of products and components to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry standards. This role supports daily quality workflows, maintains critical documentation, and collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, and vendors to uphold SPX’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Quality Inspection & Testing
  • Conduct inspections and electrical tests to verify products or components meet all requirements.
  • Ensure products comply with military standards, agency standards (UL, CSA), and special drawing/specification requirements.
  • Review purchased components requiring incoming quality inspection and determine acceptability.
  • Maintain certification records for purchased products as required.
Returned Goods & Troubleshooting
  • Evaluate returned goods from customers and work with manufacturing on disposition.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and verification when product issues or failures are identified internally or externally.
  • Support field service requests when needed.
Quality Documentation & Compliance
  • Document inspection data and maintain records in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards.
  • Document vendor non‑conformances and provide input on acceptance and future vendor decisions.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
  • Recommend process or quality improvements to management.
  • Assist with testing and measurement equipment concerns.
Safety & Work Standards
  • Support SPX Values:
    Integrity, Accountability, Excellence, Teamwork, Results.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including proper PPE usage during product testing.
  • Maintain daily quality workflow, RMAs, and tasks to support set performance metrics.
Additional Skills & Competencies
  • Strong electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office;
    Syte Line experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to other ASPEQ facilities or for field service trips.
