About the Client:

We are partnering with a leading global manufacturer specializing in engineered products for the nuclear and industrial sectors. With a strong international presence and a commitment to quality and safety, our client delivers innovative solutions that meet rigorous industry standards. Their operations span Europe, North America, and Asia, serving highly regulated markets including nuclear energy.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer:

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance programs to ensure that products and processes comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires hands‑on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment—preferably within nuclear or similarly safety‑critical industries—and involves managing day‑to‑day quality priorities, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain, and update a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program (QAP) aligned with standards such as ASME BPVC, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and ISO 9001.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications to develop job quality requirements.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Material Test Reports (MTR/CMTR) and procured item certifications to ensure compliance.
  • Apply knowledge of Non‑Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques, with minimum proficiency in Penetrant Testing (PT/LPI).
  • Understand welding requirements as per ASME Section IX, material traceability, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and support internal, supplier, customer, and regulatory audits, including Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC) reviews.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers on quality documentation, deviations, and inspections.
  • Support and manage Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID) activities.
  • Monitor product quality from raw material through finished goods, advising on compliance and necessary corrective actions.
  • Delegate and collaborate with other Quality Engineers and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, including hands‑on experience managing a QAP in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with nuclear quality assurance standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX welding requirements and material traceability.
  • Familiarity with Non‑Destructive Examination (PT, LPI).
  • Experience with audits and lead auditor qualifications (NQA-1 preferred).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Skills/Personal Qualifications:

  • Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Self‑motivated and committed to continuous improvement and quality excellence.
