Location: California

A well-established engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement across complex product lines for regulated industries. The ideal professional will have deep experience with quality assurance programs, supplier/customer quality interactions, and standards interpretation in a technical manufacturing environment.

Orange, CA

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret customer orders, design specifications, and regulatory requirements to determine applicable quality criteria.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures, including inspection and testing standards with appropriate acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare and review quality documentation (e.g., quality requirement documents) to align internal QA processes with external needs.
  • Monitor product quality performance throughout the lifecycle — from receipt of raw materials to final shipment.
  • Evaluate and improve repair instructions and quality procedures, recommending changes as needed.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documents and specifications; handle change requests and deviations.
  • Coordinate quality inspections with customers and third‑party agents; compile documentation for submittal.
  • Support and lead internal and external audits; act as quality representative in industry evaluation committees.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality processes and systems.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or similar technical field).
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Relevant auditing experience (internal or supplier audits); preferred 3+ years.
  • Experience with quality assurance systems and standards (including ISO 9001 and industry‑specific codes).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical specifications, material test reports, and engineering documents.
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive examination (NDE) methods and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally as needed (typically up to ~15%).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in regulated industries with specific quality program requirements (e.g., safety or compliance‑driven sectors).
  • Familiarity with supplier quality programs, commercial grade item dedication, or specialized manufacturing environments.
