Overview
We are seeking a self‑driven and detail‑oriented candidate to assist with golf course landscape and maintenance duties, while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining turf by mowing tees, greens, fairways and rough; also edging, fertilizing, aerating and raking green areas.
- Maintain golf course standards with daily course setup, changing tee markers and hole location.
- Assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Assist in hand‑watering of greens and dry areas using quick coupler and hose during warm season.
- Assist in the installation, pruning and maintenance of various shrubs and trees.
- Perform a variety of janitorial work; sweep, mop, and clean areas; clean, sanitize and restock restrooms; empty trash receptacles.
- Perform general grounds cleaning; clean and maintain assigned areas; pick up and discard trash and litter; remove and clean‑up graffiti; pressure wash assigned areas as necessary.
- Assess facilities, equipment and apparatus to identify conditions and safety concerns; take appropriate action to ensure safety.
- Operate a variety of maintenance equipment; clean, maintain and organize tools and equipment required for the job.
- Maintain written records and reports.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Basic knowledge of materials, methods, terminology and tools used in maintenance, repair and construction of parks and facilities.
- Proper and safe methods, techniques, materials and equipment used in construction, maintenance and repair of district parks and facilities.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety procedures.
- Basic report preparation.
- Principles and practices of record keeping.
- Perform unskilled/semi‑skilled park and facilities maintenance work.
- Operate maintenance tools and equipment related to area of assignment.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions and schedules.
- Perform simple mathematics.
- Meet customer service and teamwork guidelines as defined in the performance standards.
- Be accountable for knowledge and adherence to the district policy manual.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. One year of training and experience in the skilled minimum requirements listed above is desirable. Golf course maintenance experience preferred.
Additional RequirementsMust be 18 years or older.
Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check.
Physical Demands:
Lift, carry, push, and up to 50 pounds; operate assigned equipment and vehicles; frequent public and coworker contact; verbally communicate to exchange information.
Fingerprinting, DOJ and FBI background check, tuberculosis screening, pre‑employment physical, pre‑employment drug screening, reference check, DMV check, licensure/certification check, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
