Exceptional ICU nursing opportunity in Scott City, MO, providing critical care within a 14-bed Medical Surgical ICU. This contract role offers a dynamic setting where you'll deliver expert nursing care to patients recovering from complex procedures such as CABG surgery, neuroventricular interventions, and managing high-acuity cases like sepsis and stroke. The facility utilizes advanced technology including Alaris pumps, Prismaflex CRRT machines, IABP Abbott devices, and EPIC electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, plan, and provide exceptional nursing care in the ICU critical care environment
• Manage patient care for a diverse range of critical conditions including post-operative cardiac and neurological cases, ventilation support, and high oxygen demand situations
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize and maintain proficiency with specialized ICU equipment and EPIC charting system
• Float as needed within CTICU, ICU, and progressive care units to meet patient and unit needs
• Adhere to facility dress code, including required black scrub attire

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Valid RN license with at least 1+ year of ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Competent, flexible team player with strong work ethic
• Comfortable managing 2:1 patient ratios (up to 3:1 as needed)
• Experience with critical care equipment and EMR systems preferred

Schedule and Contract Details:

• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 36 guaranteed hours weekly (48 hours available upon request)
• Rotating weekend schedule (every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday)
• No call requirements
• Contract duration: 13 weeks with extension options up to 26 weeks
• Flu vaccination required between November 1 and April 1 unless exemption approved
