About The Position
The County of Riverside's Riverside University Health System, (RUHS), is currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager‑MC/CHC for multiple Medical/Surgical units in Moreno Valley.
The Assistant Nurse Manager – MC/CHC is a supervisory level classification that reports to the Executive Director. Incumbents assist in the overall supervision and coordination of operations and programs within assigned nursing units. The scope of responsibility for the Assistant Nurse Manager – MC/CHC spans all aspects of nursing care 24 hours per day for multiple inpatient‑nursing units or high‑volume outpatient units.
Focus of this position: Unit‑Based Telemetry, Med/Surge, Float Pool, IMCU overflow, and Cath Lab/ Neuro/ Vascular interventions once admitted to the medical‑surgical unit.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing and at least three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, which must have included at least one year of experience as a charge nurse or in a lead capacity. He/She should also possess foundational knowledge of chemotherapy and oncology concepts, with the ability to educate patients and/or staff.
Required Licenses And Certifications- Current and valid RN license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current and valid National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, Blue Cloud‑National Stroke Association, or Apex.
- Oncology certification (within 6 months of hire date, if selected).

Examples Of Essential Duties (May Include But Not Limited To)- Promote collaboration among other departments, units, programs, and physicians; represent assigned unit(s) or program(s) in committee meetings.
- Assist in candidate recruiting, training, promotion, and termination activities; monitor performance of nursing staff and provide feedback.
- Develop policies and procedures, standards of care and practice, and monitor nursing care in relation to those standards to assure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII and other regulatory standards such as those required by RUHS‑MC or CHC program grants; advise staff on the interpretation and application of agency policies, laws and regulations.
- Support the Clinical Director of Nursing Services I/II at RUHS‑MC in planning, coordinating and supervising the work of nursing personnel for multiple nursing units and/or programs within those units.
