4W Med-Surg Cardiac is a fast paced, stimulating environment for nurses who love to use their critical thinking and prioritization skills. Our floor offers a diverse, complex patient population that requires telemetry monitoring and interventions, respiratory support and heart failure measures. As a nurse you will gain experience in multiple different medication drips and procedures that a typical medical-surgical unit does not encounter.

Job Summary

The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.

Education:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
▪ Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience:

Previous nursing experience
