About The Position

in Moreno Valley. Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, the incumbent will be responsible for acting as lead for an assigned pod or team, managing nurse visits as assigned, correctly documenting medications and vaccines administered, completing and processing referrals, assisting the physician and registered nurse with data entry, order entry, chart review, responding to patient questions/concerns/care needs received via telephone, electronic medical record and in person, assisting in ensuring work areas/patient care areas are properly stocked with necessary supplies, keeping track of medications, equipment, and other supplies used for patient care;

performing nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in the Department of Mental Health or Public Health Ambulatory Family Health Center; and perform other related duties as required.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse I is the first working level in the LVN series. The Licensed Vocational Nurse I is distinguished from the Licensed Vocational Nurse II in that the latter has one year or more of nursing experience. The Licensed Vocational Nurse I/II is distinguished from the class of Nursing Assistant, Health Services Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant, in that a state license is required of incumbents and they perform a more highly skilled form of nursing care.

Professional Experience With The Following Is Preferred

  • Bilingual
  • Women's health
  • High-volume clinic setting

Required Valid Licenses And Certificates

  • California Vocational Nurse's License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Schedule

5/40 Monday - Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm

Salary Range

Licensed Vocational Nurse I: $27.4177 - $40.1876

Licensed Vocational Nurse II: $29.0135 - $42.5261
