Job overview:
The Emergency Room Registered Charge Nurse is responsible for the flow and management of a 21‑bed Emergency Room through planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and supervising the nursing care provided while in the Emergency Department.

In this role, the ER Charge RN will perform a variety of tasks, including:

• Making nurse room assignments
• Assigning tech roles and duties
• Directing EMS/triage traffic as necessary
• Assisting staff nurses with patient care
• Coordinating between house supervisors, ER physicians, and outsideiteerd physicians/facilities
• Supervising nursing care provided by staff nurses/ER techs while exhibiting accountability through attendance, dress code, and cell‑phone usage compliance
• Acting as a role model for work ethic and professionalism

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an emergency room

Skills:

• Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑stress and fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems
