Under close direction of the Dietary Director, performs job after receiving detailed instructions. Prepares & serves all hot food items for breakfast & lunch (a.m. cook), evening meal (p.m. cook) for patients and cafeteria patrons. Maintains a high standard of food handling. Directs the activities of the dietary employees as directed by the Dietary Director. Performs specific cleaning assignments as written and/or assigned by the Dietary Director.
Responsible for baking. Special functions & other duties as assigned by the Dietary Director.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must have the ability to read and write English language
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience institutional food service preferred
- Knowledge & use of standardized recipes, therapeutic diet preparation & supervisory skills preferred
- Familiar with OSHA hazardous material standards
