At North Bay Health, the Clinical Nurse Specialist Coordinator, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (CNSC, NICU) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who coordinates the clinical and educational resources and care standards for the neonatal and pediatric critical care level patient population with a focus on neuro‑surgical and critical care. The CNSC works with physicians to establish a collegial, interdisciplinary patient‑care environment, serves as an independent consultant on clinical care issues for patients, families, staff, physicians, and other departments, and facilitates and manages special projects within the division.
The CNSC directs the clinical nursing practice in the NICU, coordinates and assesses critical‑care education development and clinical competency of staff, and ensures continued competency through educational programs for both newly hired and experienced nurses. The CNS is responsible for consulting staff on complex neonatal critical‑care issues, overseeing patient and primary‑caregiver education activities, and implementing a coordinated discharge‑planning program. Responsibilities include oversight of clinical nursing practice and patient‑care delivery, personnel development, regulatory and professional standard compliance, fostering interdisciplinary collaborative relationships, and bringing innovative ideas from bedside to organization.

:
Master’s and/or doctoral degree in nursing. - Licensure and Certification
:- Current California RN license required.
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization within 1 year of hire.
- Certification by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) required.
- Current AHA or equivalent BLS and NRP certification required.
- Current Clinical Nurse Specialist certification required.
- Experience
:- Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in neonatal nursing care, at least one year in a facility with a NICU equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.
- Minimum 3 years of education or clinical specialist experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred.
- Working knowledge of health‑care practices, patient‑care equipment and products required.
- Evidence of current instructor status by the NRP of the AAP and the AHA.

- Well organized, able to set priorities, work independently, and an effective team member.
- Word processing skills.
- Statistical/data management skills preferred.
- Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing patient care based on age‑related needs for neonatal and pediatric patients.

Minimum $89.09 – Maximum $106.34 (offered hourly rate based on years of experience).
