SSM Health in the greater St. Louis area is seeking an experienced and compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide efficient and high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries in an urgent care setting. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to determine appropriate treatment for urgent care patients.
• Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries (e.g., upper respiratory infections, minor lacerations, sprains, fractures).
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory tests, X-rays, EKGs) as needed to assist in diagnosis and management.
• Prescribe medications (antibiotics, pain relievers, and other medications) according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, injury prevention, and treatment plans, including medication instructions and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth transitions between urgent care and other settings.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards of care to maintain regulatory compliance and patient safety.

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri (or willingness to obtain one).
• Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
• One year of proven Nurse Practitioner experience in urgent care or a similar fast-paced clinical setting, demonstrating strong clinical and diagnostic decision-making skills.
