** POSITION OVERVIEW
** The Employment Coordinator – Youth is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to youth, adults, employers, and community partners. The Employment Coordinator will recruit employment opportunities for youth. Work opportunities will include work sites for youth enrolled in the Workforce Investment Act work experience service. Work experience opportunities will be from both the non-profit and private sector. The Coordinator will provide professional guidance throughout the duration of the work experience assignment to both the worksite supervisor and the youth intern, insuring a beneficial experience for both.
The Coordinator communicates in a professional and courteous manner; and collaborates with team members, management, and community partners. The Coordinator is sensitive toward working with diverse cultures, and can articulate clearly. Services provided will be conducted in a variety of platforms that include both in-person and virtual service delivery. The Coordinator may review documents submitted for eligibility determination for the work experience program.
** CORE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Assists in the recruitment and site validation of summer youth worksites.
Provides orientation to work site supervisors regarding responsibilities, labor laws, and expectations.
• Matches youth to work opportunities by reviewing the assessments, interests, skills, previous work experience, and culture fit with the worksite.
• Monitors work sites throughout the Gulf Coast Region on a routine basis to resolve any issues anensure compliance as required by processes and procedures.
• Will work with both interns and supervisors to promote safety and address any concerns.
• Will provide guidance to youth and to worksite to resolve issue that may arise on the worksite.
• Will facilitate meetings such as orientations in person or virtual.
• Will update counseling notes, databases, Smart Sheets promptly to provide updated information.
• Recruits job openings from private sector employers for youth.
• Will collaborate with Career offices and Staffing Specialist to ensure job opportunities are available in the system and to coordinate work experience placements.
• Will collaborate with Career office staff to provide updates on youth enrolled in work experience.
• May assist in the collection or review of documents provided to determine eligibility for WIA Youth Program.
• Works to meet project and task deadlines.## Qualifications
** PREFERRED/ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
** Associates degree preferred OR Six months of experience as a human resource recruiter, youth worker, or experience working with the non-profit community, business or education community may substitute for each 15 hours of college.
Ability to obtain the National Workforce Institute Level 1 certification (Certified Workforce Professional) within six months of starting work as a Supervisor. Ability to obtain the National Workforce Institute Level 2 certification (Certified Workforce Expert – Direct Customer Contact: Job Seeker Services - Management) within two years of starting work as a Supervisor.
