The Veterans Transition Center of California (VTC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans to move from crisis to self-sufficiency through housing, supportive services, and advocacy. The Development Coordinator supports the organization’s fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, and special event efforts. This role plays a key part in maintaining donor records, executing acknowledgment processes, managing event logistics for the annual Gala, and supporting digital communications.
This is a temporary position that increases in hours leading up to and including the annual Gala on May 2, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Donor Database & Gift Processing- Enter and maintain accurate donation records in Bloomerang
- Process and track Gala ticket purchases in Bloomerang
- Generate and send timely donor acknowledgment letters
- Track and send acknowledgments for in‑kind Gala donations
- Maintain organized donor and event records
- Create and schedule social media posts, including photos and updates
- Support social media strategy and content creation
- Design newsletters and marketing materials using Canva
- Draft and edit donor and event communications
- Photography as needed
- Manage Gala guest list and registration tracking
- Assist with silent auction package tracking and checklist management
- Coordinate and manage Gala volunteer schedule
- Provide on‑site support at the Gala on May 2, 2026
- Assist with event logistics and day‑of execution
- Utilize Excel and Word for tracking and reporting
- Provide professional phone and email communication with donors and guests
- Maintain organized digital and physical event files
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content strategy
- Experience with Square POS or similar payment platforms
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Detail‑oriented with high accuracy in data entry
- Professional phone and communication skills
- Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Highly organized and systems‑oriented
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable interacting with donors, volunteers, and community members
- Ability to work extended hours (up to 49 hours/week) during peak Gala season
- Availability to work the Gala event on May 2, 2026
Position Type:

Schedule:
25 hours per week through April 15, 2026; 49 hours per week through May 2, 2026 (Gala event date)
