Communications Coordinator

Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, developing, and executing all external marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives. Leads creative outreach strategies across social and digital media platforms to enhance public awareness and organizational visibility. Oversees internal committees and cross-functional teams focused on employee wellness, employee social events/opportunities, newsletter, United Way campaign, and other special projects. Identifies relevant funding opportunities and leads the development and submission of compelling grant proposals and funding requests to support the organization's mission and programs.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• Valid drivers license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation

• Demonstrated success in securing public and/or private grant funding
• Experience using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Familiarity with grant databases and funding research tools (e.g., Grants.gov, Foundation Directory Online)
• Experience with website CMS platforms (e.g. Wordpress), Survey Monkey, Wufoo, email marketing software (e.g., Constant Contact) and social media management tools
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams environments
• Experience in a nonprofit, government, human services, or healthcare setting
• Preferred Bachelors Degree in one of the following fields:
  • Communications
  • Public Relations
  • Journalism
  • Marketing
  • Nonprofit Management
  • Public Administration
  • English
  • Business
  • Other related field
• Minimum one year of experience in two or more of the following:
  • Grant writing and development
  • Strategic communications and public relations
  • Digital media management, including social media and website content
  • Graphic design or content creation for external audiences

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.
