We are seeking a Project Coordinator for Green Workforce Development to support SEI’s sustainability-focused workforce development programs. This Project Coordinator will primarily be responsible for supervising and mentoring Climate Corps Fellows as they develop real-world skills to build a career in the sustainability field, and will hold a leading role in growing the reach and impact of the Energize Careers program.

PROJECT COORDINATOR FUNCTIONS

  • Supervision and mentorship of up to 25 Fellows in SEI’s Climate Corps program
  • Work with SEI leadership to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve all barriers and challenges that negatively impact Energize Careers benchmarks and deliverables, such as participant enrollment and retention.
  • Assist with improving training programs, processes, and documentation around program work
  • Support partners in efficiently meeting expectations around participant enrollment, job placement and retention, as well as completing invoices and assessments correctly and in a timely manner
  • Provide direct career coaching and mentorship to individuals who experience barriers to employment, including those who have been previously incarcerated or come from disadvantaged communities.
  • Build and enhance relationships with workforce development entities including 9-16 education institutions, wrap-around service providers, industry partners, workforce investment boards, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist with all aspects of our workforce development, including participant recruitment, staff supervision and mentorship, evaluation, reporting, partner training support, and project management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in fields related to this position.
  • At least three years of experience in the sustainability or green building fields.
  • Foundational knowledge of any or all of the following: workforce development, sustainability, climate change, energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green infrastructure, or building science.
  • At least three years of experience supervising multiple staff members or other direct reports simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of the nature of & players within local public agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and educational institutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with and interest in various technologies as well as competency across the Google and Microsoft suites of software. Aptitude and willingness to quickly learn industry or project-specific software.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision, collaboratively in teams/partners, or independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with others.
  • Experience and aptitude for rapport building & working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, & clients.
  • Genuine commitment to anti-racism and willingness to work in racial equity frameworks and experience in addressing racism and racial equity with team members and programmatically.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required
