The Cement Technician is a multi-skilled role responsible for both the operation and industrial maintenance of cement plant equipment and systems.
This position supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance through equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities in a heavy industrial environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING- Practice and promote workplace safety by assessing risks before tasks, performing only authorized activities, and utilizing proper PPE.
- Demonstrate and encourage company core values, including self-development and coaching others through inspiration and empowerment.
- Perform walk‑by inspections and complete operational checklists on plant process equipment.
- Conduct industrial maintenance activities including repairs, installations, and replacements on a wide variety of equipment.
- Perform rigging, cutting, welding, fitting, lubrication, shaft alignment, and basic low‑voltage electrical repairs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Operate light and medium‑sized plant mobile equipment.
- Troubleshoot and optimize equipment during operation and mechanical breakdowns.
- Maintain documentation, organize work activities, and participate in team‑based initiatives.
- Perform housekeeping duties and other assigned responsibilities as required.
- Promote and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and foster a strong safety culture.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment
- Prior experience in Mechanical Maintenance or Industrial Maintenance
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights, in warm temperatures, dusty environments, confined spaces, and occasionally around or over water
- Must be able to work any shift as required
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to successfully pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing, in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
