Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This individual will be instrumental in performing both preventative and corrective maintenance in our FDA-regulated medical device production environment, helping to minimize downtime, support production schedules, and maintain compliance with stringent quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) on a wide range of production and facilities equipment including, but not limited to, extruders, braiders, automated systems, compressors and HVAC systems.
  • Develop and help implement a repeatable, detailed preventive maintenance program that is planned, tracked, and continuously improved using our IQMS ERP system, ensuring consistency and documentation across all equipment.
  • Create a monthly PM plan for review and approval by Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure equipment availability for required PM tasks
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to create standardized PM procedures, and track compliance to achieve optimal equipment performance, uptime and audit readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems to maintain proper and consistent functionality.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including PM checklists, repair logs, parts usage, and equipment history—leveraging IQMS where applicable.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to proactively identify and address potential issues before they lead to equipment failures.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and relocations during facility upgrades or line reconfigurations.
  • Perform building and facility maintenance, such as replacing lights, clearing drains, basic plumbing, HVAC filter changes, and minor structural repairs.
  • Lead communications with production and facilities equipment OEMs, distributors and suppliers to resolve functional and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls during weekdays and weekends to minimize downtime and production disruption.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), OSHA, and internal safety protocols.
  • Procure spare parts, materials, and other items necessary for PM.
  • Develop an inventory plan of spare parts and ensure availability in inventory for timely parts changes and repairs to achieve the required equipment uptime.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a maintenance role within a regulated industrial or manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, food, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, and pneumatic controls.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints of buildings, machines, tooling, HVAC, air compressors, electrical diagrams, and other related production and facilities equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer systems for documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Experience with ERP or CMMS platforms such as IQMS to schedule and document preventive maintenance tasks, log equipment issues, and track spare part usage is a strong plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a variety of conditions, including cleanroom environments, temperature fluctuations, and areas with mechanical noise.
