About This Position

Maintain production equipment and facilities to maximize quality production with limited downtime and waste.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Reliable attendance is required; ability to adhere to assigned work schedule.
  • Maximize Quality Production with limited down time and waste.
  • Know and follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Company Policies in a positive upbeat manner.
  • Comply with GFSI, FDA, GMP, OSHA and HACCP guidelines.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Wear proper PPE per GMPs, SDS, and OSHA.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. Clean as you go.
  • Ability to recognize and correct food safety and quality issues.
  • Report any unsafe condition or property damage to supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are taken.
  • Always notify your supervisor before leaving workstation.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic PMs as scheduled.
  • Communicate to operators, supervisors, and others through downtime logs, memos, etc.
  • Complete work orders and/or assignments in a timely manner and document accordingly.
  • Demonstrate ownership of projects, changeovers, PMs through investigation, planning, performance, deadlines, and follow-up.
  • Monitor, test and maintain safety devices on production lines.
  • Complete Change-overs of equipment thoroughly and efficiently with minimum downtime and waste.
  • Maintain the shop in a clean, organized and efficient environment.
  • Track, repair, and/or maintain equipment tooling and maintenance tools.
  • Practice "Time is of the Essence" philosophy when performing changeovers, PMs and projects.
  • Prepare, order, track purchase orders to avoid downtime or rush deliveries.
  • Be proactive in machine and building repairs.
  • Follow all BOCA, OSHA and NEC guidelines when performing, repairing or installing equipment, building or tasks.
  • Train operators and/or other mechanics as needed.
  • Fill in for production as needed.
  • Stock and maintain spare parts inventories and report needs to supervisor.
  • Perform special projects as directed.
  • Seek additional instruction upon completion of tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Comply with OSHA Safety, Health and Food regulations
  • Associates degree (A.

    A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Degree MUST be in Mechanical or Electrical Field
  • Familiar with vertical and horizontal pouch packaging machines
  • Perform mechanic skills, including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting; and the repairing of packaging machines.
  • Read and interpret safety documentation, equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Basic PC skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and with ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong organization skills to complete tasks consistently and in a timely manner
  • Available to work: MONDAY - THURSDAY, 3 pm - 1:30 am
