Duration: up to 12 months contract with possible extension
Job DescriptionPay Range: $30 – $35/hr. (The pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications)

Description:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
- Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
- Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
- Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used.
- Sand, burs and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Monitor and verify quality of finished product.
- Complete repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.
Responsibilities:
- Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience in manufacturing/production environment. - Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, and carrying tools.
- Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
- Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high temperature composite materials including BMI and Polyimide.
- Experience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding and bagging.
