A Day In The Life

Operator will be required to set up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce a good quality product. Equipment may include flame cutter, punch press, drill press, forklift, crane, jib crane, machining center, pipe cutter, programmer, thread roller, pedestal grinder, disc grinder, stapler, boxer, CNC, band saw, saw, and other departmental equipment. Processes performed include inspecting, measuring, identifying, flame cutting, programming, forming, bending, blasting, drilling, machining, cutting, sawing, stamping, and stacking.

Operators may be required to conduct visual inspections, record production and scrap, maintain production records, and perform other related operations.

Operator must be able to read and interpret drawings and routing sheets and use calipers, gauges, measuring devices, and perform SPC as required. Operators may be required to furnish their own hand tools and to maintain machines, equipment, and the work area in a clean and orderly manner.

• Set up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce quality products.
• Inspect, measure, identify, flame cut, program, form, bend, blast, drill, machine, cut, saw, stamp, and stack parts as required.
• Read and interpret drawings and routing sheets; use calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices; perform SPC as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines, equipment, and work area.
• Furnish own hand tools as required.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and routing sheets; proficiency with calipers and measuring devices; ability to perform SPC as required.
• Ability to sit and/or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.
• Ability to walk, hear, see, and have full use of both hands.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist level and from waist level to floor.
• Ability to lift 90 lbs. from waist level to floor.
• Ability to handle 15 lbs. continuously for the duration of the shift.
