Overview

Sonova envisions a world where everyone can enjoy the delight of hearing. This role is based in Valencia, CA – Onsite.

Technician, Calibration – Provide technical support for manufacturing process equipment used in the production of the Advanced Bionics Cochlear Implant system. This role is responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and continuous operational readiness of critical process equipment, including laser welding systems, helium leak detectors, X-ray machines, temperature chambers and cycle ovens, resistance welders, vacuum bake systems, and electrical test equipment.

The Line Technician ensures equipment performance, reliability, and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled calibrations, verifications, on production, lab, and facility equipment
  • Maintain and update calibration records, equipment history, and CMMS entries
  • Coordinate and escort third-party calibration vendors and ensure work meets internal and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities (TUV, FDA, etc.)
  • Identify and escalate equipment risks, overdue calibrations, and system gaps
  • Maintain organized, safe, and compliant work areas
  • Assist with new equipment qualification and setup
More about you / Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; AS degree in electromechanical engineering or equivalent is a plus
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in medical device manufacturing with focus on equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic measurement systems, including equipment calibration and verification
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical procedures and documentation within regulated environments (FDA, TUV)
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and accountable with strong organizational skills
  • Professional communicator who works effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in English and experienced with Microsoft Office, CMMS systems, and basic technical software
  • Additional certifications in metrology, calibration, or electronics are a plus

A minimum of 200

Mb/sec download and 10

Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role’s pay range is between $24.61/hr - $36.92/hr this role is also bonus eligible.
