Overview

Container Repair Technician responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing garbage containers to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with quality standards. Requires a strong mechanical background with welding and fabrication experience and a commitment to maintaining container quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Container Inspection: conduct thorough inspections to identify structural, mechanical, and corrosion-related issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair and Maintenance: perform welding, cutting, and fabrication to address structural damage, cracks, or holes; repair or replace hinges, lids, wheels, and locking mechanisms; apply corrosion-resistant coatings.
  • Hydraulic System Maintenance: inspect and repair hydraulic systems, troubleshoot cylinders, valves, and pumps as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: ensure repairs meet quality standards, safety regulations, and municipal requirements; perform quality control checks.
  • Documentation and Reporting: maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs; generate reports detailing container condition and actions taken.

    Collaboration:

    work with technicians and team members to manage workload and meet deadlines; communicate with supervisors and coordinators.
  • Safety Compliance: follow safety protocols and identify/report potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Equipment and Tool Maintenance: keep tools and equipment in good working condition and report malfunctions.
  • Continuous Improvement: stay informed about industry developments and provide input on process improvements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or welding certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in garbage container repair or similar field.
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems used in waste containers.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in waste management.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Container Repair Technician; ability to lift up to 100 pounds; strong reading and writing skills.
  • Specialized knowledge includes required certificates, licenses, and registrations; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail.
