Overview

The Technician aids the Manufacturing Leader, Project Team Lead, and/or the Senior Technician in the assembly and electrical controls through the build portion of a project. The Technician commits to following our Guiding Principle "Harmonizing Commitments and Plans." This ensures that we do right by our customers and strive to meet and/or exceed expectations using backward integration steps, ensuring the goal is our starting point.

During some portions of the manufacturing process, the Technician may work autonomously. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding daily tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial mathematics, print reading, wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics and machining theory related to projects.
  • Applies basic and advanced theory related to assembly, controls and machining.
  • Alignment and support of each of the seven guiding principles.
  • Is responsible for the layout, wiring, testing, and occasional design of low and high voltage electrical panels that may include PLC’s, machine controllers, motion controllers, variable frequency drives (VFD’s) and other components commonly found in electrical control systems.
  • Panel specification and panel layout design.
  • Under the guidance and direction of experienced personnel, learns skills related to both manufacturing and controls.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams and manufacturer specifications.
  • Learns safe operation of, receives practical experience on drills, manual lathes, mills, overhead cranes, hand tools, pipe bending equipment, tacking/welding, material specs and coatings.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for drilling/machining and electrical layouts.
  • Works with the manufacturing team to debug equipment.
  • Communicate with co-workers and leaders to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Endeavors to achieve assembly/controls time standards on all routings.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Supports and maintains sound housekeeping standards aligned with 5S applications.
  • Comply with entire Quality Assurance (Q/A) manual to assure shipping of exclusive high-quality products.
  • Travel to customer site to assist in installation, trouble shooting and machine set-up.

  • Additional (Non-Essential) Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen appropriate for this position.
  • This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime, evening, weekend and holidays as required for business needs.
  • Qualifications
  • Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment consisting of one or more of the following: custom assembly operations, tool and die operations, machining operations, electrical controls and associated support level requirements.
  • Vocational, technical, or trade school certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical controls aptitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in industrial math applications
  • Basic/Advance understanding of Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Near visual acuity for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
